Jake Meyers is the Associate Director for Strategic Learning at PAX sapiens, a grantmaking and operating foundation dedicated to preventing predictable global catastrophes, with a focus on preventing global pandemics, preventing armed conflicts between the US and China, and preventing the use of nuclear weapons. In this role, Jake leverages storytelling as a key tool to better capture, share, and apply powerful impact narratives, ensuring that lessons learned effectively inform PAX sapiens' programs.
A dedicated Planet Forward alumnus, Jake’s passion for environmental communication was solidified through his experiences with the organization. He was awarded Planet Forward's Storyfest Grand Prize in 2020, which led to a storytelling expedition in the Galapagos Islands in 2022 with Linblad Expeditions. As a former Planet Forward Correspondent representing the University of Arizona, his work captured diverse narratives—from food security in Kenya and environmental activism on the US/Mexico Border, to the youth leading a climate march in Arizona. This foundation in applied storytelling has been a cornerstone of his career, where he has catalyzed knowledge exchange and adaptive management with organizations such as Bixal, iDE FEMA, the Peace Corps, and the Fulbright Program.
