Boating and fishing enthusiasts have seen more enforcement of watercraft hygiene in Minnesota lakes this summer. This is due in part to ramped up efforts to crack down on the spread of aquatic invasive species from lake to lake.

The federal government has worked with auto manufacturers on aggressive fuel economy standards. Current standards for 2016 will reach 35.5mpg, and if approved, the new car standard would soar to 54.5 mpg in 2025.

Many people think there’s not much you can do with an old mattress. In Minnesota, local governments are collecting old mattresses and recycling and reusing some of the materials in an effort to keep the mattresses from clogging up landfills!
