The George Washington University has a number of sustainability academic programs, but the most interesting is the undergraduate sustainability minor. It cuts across all schools of the university, allowing students and faculty from any discipline to teach and learn around sustainable environmental issues. At the end of the program, each student is required to complete a culminating experience with real-world application. Some experiences are research-based, some are internships and some are a little more out there - literally. These two students took their culminating experiences to the next level.
