In today’s society, a new and innovative way to reduce the buildup of waste caused from construction is to use shipping containers within architecture. Rather than using new materials, virtually any structure, such as homes, dormitories, offices, studios, and farming initiatives can be constructed out of old, unused shipping containers. After these shipping containers have traveled the world and exhausted their purpose, they are left unused on empty shipping docks. Anyone can then buy these containers for an affordable price and transform them into architectural structures.

Shipping containers can be insulated to fit most climates. This means anyone across the globe can use one and design it to fit his or her needs. This sustainable option has a great deal of room for potential in a wide range of circumstances. Our video demonstrates what this green alternative can do for the field, for the classroom, and for the planet.
