Susquehanna Sourcewater Early Warning System

Susquehanna River Basin Commission has developed an Early Warning System that will helps them respond quickly to threats to the river, which provides drinking water for about 700,000 people in the Northeast. The early warning system provides a framework for communities to communicate with each other and share data among water suppliers, state/local agency personnel, and the emergency response community to enhancing drinking water protection efforts.

This monitoring network helps minimize the impact from contaminant spills and provides data for improving day-to-day treatment operations, further ensuring a continuous and safe supply of drinking water.
