Our plastic world

Because of the complex chemical structure behind the single-use plastics, the average piece of plastic can take anywhere from hundreds to thousands of years to naturally biodegrade. Every year, the amount of plastic waste entering the world's oceans increases, and with over a century of our everyday use of plastics behind us, there are now trillions of pieces of plastic in the ocean. While today, the conversation around plastic is commonly focused around plastic straws and the harm they do to marine animals such as Sea Turtles, we need to step back and look at the bigger picture, that is, our plastic world.
