Haywood Community College has demonstrated green building techniques to their local community, is building a LEED Platinum building, and bought EVs for their security fleet.

HCC is demonstrating green building techniques to share with the local community, as well as building a LEED Platinum Creative Arts building. It includes solar, rainwater capture, locally harvested lumber, and daylighting, among other techniques.

They have an electric vehicle fleet used by the security services, and have installed a charging station on campus. They are also collecting waste grease from the Haywood school system and using it in their automotive program as fuel.
