Chapman University

Chapman University is committed to a campus culture that promotes a sustainable future. This commitment is instrumental to Chapman’s mission to educate ethical and informed global citizens. As such, it calls upon all constituencies of the University to carefully evaluate short- and long-term social, economic, and environmental impacts of decisions before acting. The University demonstrates this commitment through sustainable practices in strategic planning and ongoing operations as well as sustainability-focused educational programs, research, and community engagement.

The University's Wilkinson College is committed to leading the conversation in our community on issues of humanity, unity and justice. As such, the college has undertaken, semester-long examinations of key societal issues. These interdisciplinary, campus-wide conversations promote thoughtful dialogue; mindful reflection; social tolerance; awareness and respect; peace and kindness.

The Engaging the World: Leading the Conversation on Environmental Justice series highlights environmental injustice, looking at how environmental toxicity and risk disproportionately impact populations based on race, ethnicity, nationality, and social standing.
