The Dragonfly: An Urban Farm for NYC

The Dragonfly is an urban farm that hopes to help New York City adapt to the nearly one million more residents that are estimated to occupy the city by 2030.  Designed by Vincent Callebaut Architects, the Dragonfly concept was unveiled in 2009 for Roosevelt Island in New York City. Using the wing of a dragonfly as inspiration, this architectural feat would contain a greenhouse that would supply food to Manhattan and Queens.  The building would also be powered by wind turbines located on the building's vertical axes.[gallery link="file"]
