ContributorHello!
I hail from Bend, OR- where the sun shines nearly year round and the snow covered mountains glisten on the horizon. The sagebrush-filled desert skirts around it, leading into National Forests, ancient rock formations, and vibrant rivers. This was my home growing up. The diverse landscapes of Bend became part of me. Although, it wasn't until I started getting older that I realized the oasis for what it was. Thus, from a young age, I sought to protect this part of me, and that connection to nature.
Now, I am in my second year at the University of Oregon. I am studying Environmental Studies, and am also interested in International studies with a focus on the intersection of environmental and human rights. When I'm not busy with school work, I enjoy long-distance running, chilling with family and friends, and if I'm lucky, sleeping under the stars on a backpacking trip.
I'm also suing the federal government for violating youth's constitutional rights to a healthy, stable atmosphere. Check out the story of the 20 other youth and I's journey at ourchildrenstrust.org.
