About Me

Brief Bio
I am the editor of the Planet Forward website. I'm here to help you get the most out of our community, so please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Relevant Interests and Experience
Most recently, I managed the highly trafficked website of Carbonfund.org, an organization working with businesses and individuals to reduce their carbon footprint. Previous to that, I was the Online Communications Manager at the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, and worked with volunteers to build an online community that pressured local governments to pass climate-friendly legislation.

Hi Susanna,

I appreciate your effort at bringing like-minded people together to help make a difference in the future of this planet. I worked on Wall Street for many years but was always an avid environmentalist. I am very interested in renewable energy companies and hope to connect with others that can help me learn more about such companies. Thank you for your invitation.

Two books that got me started on creating a green economy were "For the Common Good" by Herman Daly who was on the World Bank for environmental aspect. Another was "Ecology Commerce" by Paul Hawkens. I am sure you heard of them. Obama is on the right track. To bad though he did not give tax credits for having less children due to overpopulation that will bring us all down. Friedman even talks about that. I give micro loans to www.kiva.org also to help people

How many energy experts does it take to unscrew a light bulb?

Slate writer Daniel Gross is a pretty lucky guy. He’s using the wisdom of the crowd to help him reduce this energy use in his home. It’s part of a larger project by Slate called The Hive, which is using the collective wisdom of their readers to come up with solutions to everyday problems.

Last night, Slate hosted a meeting of energy experts, journalist, bloggers, business… Continue

The Sun Also Sets: A Solution to the Intermittency Problem?

The world’s second largest solar array is being built on the back of the nation’s largest fossil fuel plant in the hopes to find a hybrid solution to the nation’s energy woes.

It's being dubbed the Martin Next Generation Solar Energy Center and it's being built in Indiantown, Florida by FBL. The solar array will generate 75 megawatts of power, or a less than 2% of the adjacent plant’s generating capacity. The solar power will help to supplement the energy needed, especially in the sum… Continue

For maximum efficiency the operator would like full load. At my last job before retiring (in İndia) we had captive power generation capacity of 1500 mW - 500 for our own use and 1000 for export to the grid. The entire unit was combined cycle where y…

Yeah, but I think there's even some sort of backlash against energy efficiency--like it's a liberal hippy thing, or it's "too hard" to do.
