Planet Forward

Planet Forward Brings Together New Voices, New Ideas

This is your opportunity to shape the national debate on climate change.

How? To start, tell us your best idea for how we can reduce our carbon footprint. You can post your idea through our blog, or, even better, post a video through this site. Comment, rate, make your voice heard.

We welcome submissions of all kinds--just keep it focused on how we can reduce our carbon footprint. Use animations, songs, and or take us on a walk-through of your lab, where you're doing innovative research. Have you noticed an interesting poll or provocative article? Post it to our blog. We want your ideas. You might want to tell us about a new technology, business model, government policy or community action.  You can show us what you’re doing as an individual citizen – in your home, school or community.

We ask that you explain your idea, provide real information, shed some light on it.  That way others can learn from your experience – and maybe contact you or create a group to do even more.

The best ideas that appear PlanetForward.org will be featured in an hour-long Planet Forward broadcast for PBS stations nationwide.  We did a show last year, which is available online.

It all starts with a good idea. So welcome to the network. Now, make your case.

How You Can Participate:

  • Blog your idea:  Answer the question: How can we reduce our carbon footprint.  Maybe it’s the latest innovation in solar power, maybe it’s a policy standpoint, maybe it’s personal action—make your case.
  • View our webisodes: Our webisodes will feature interviews by thought leaders, engaging videos from our site, and stories from the latest headlines.  Check them out and let us know what you think!
